Nimf <-

Description

Nimf is a two panel file manager ala Norton Commander, programmed in C using the GTK toolkit. It's main goal is to create a full-featured file manager which adheres to 'The law of least astonishment'.

Users familiar with Midnight Commander, Total Commander, Norton Commander or any of the other Orthodox file manager should be able to use it without any problems whatsoever. It will allow you to do all common tasks you can perform on the commandline, contain features for quickly performing tedious tasks (like mass renaming files) and more. Further more, it will be light and fast with few dependencies.

Features

It currently (version 0.1.0) contains the following features (albait a little bit buggy perhaps ;) ) :

  • Dual-panels.
  • Automatic refreshing panels
  • Jumpsearching (also known as type-ahead-find).
  • Edit, copy, move, rename, make dir, delete, symlink, setting rights, setting ownership.
  • Coloring of various file types (dir/symlink).
  • Extention based running of files.
  • Sorting columns.
  • Commandline interface with internal output display.
  • Bookmarks
  • Setting dialogs for editing all key bindings, actions (running files) and some misc settings
